Cyber Monday 2015: What’s in Your Cart? Linky
It’s the most wonderful tiiiiiiiime of the yeeeear! (You can just imagine me singing this sentence to you. But please, give me a good singing voice.)
It’s here! Cyber Monday is just around the corner, and not only am I attempting to stock up on gifts, I’m also stocking up my speech room! Nothing eases the winter blues like a whole slew of new materials and activities in speech, for both me and my kiddos!
Sweet Jenna at Speech Room News has yet again put together a great linky that lets you see what’s in everyone’s cart, to make sure you’re not missing out on anything wonderful. Click here to see the whole post.
Here’s what you need from my shop:
The newest addition to the “Cut & Go” series books–Christmas and Winter! These low-prep books teach spatial concepts, vocabulary, following directions and more! Grab them separately, or in a bundle to save money.
Phonological processes are about to get a lot cuter with this winter game you can use until the snow melts.
These completely editable newsletters have been such a hit with my parents this year! They keep my parents informed, and my principal impressed. Win-win.
Here are some things that are already on MY wish-list:
I am thick in the middle of IEP season which means LOTS of talking with parents & teachers 💬 These AAC handouts are a DREAM during times like this, and make for a great tangible take away for parents & teachers alike. (Plus anything on #astrobrights is just 😍)
You can download both the parent & teacher packets in my TpT store, and even download a sample for free! 😀

A friend of mine posted on FB a few months ago about how every night at bedtime, she tells her children "what she knows" (thanks Carrie!) So...I took her idea and started doing this with my children. Now, every night before bed, I can't leave their room without Aislyn saying "Mommy, tell us what you know." I hold her tight and whisper "I know that you are kind. I know that you have a beautiful heart. I know that you are brave. I know that you are smart. I know that you are a good leader. I know that you are strong. And I love you as big as the sky but who loves you more?" And without hesitation she answers "God." Now I will tell you Aislyn is my tender-hearted child. She is also my reserved girl, who fears spiders, loud noises, animals, and any person she doesn't know well. Saying that statement "I know that you are brave" to her every night has made a noticeable change in her. The other day, she saw a stink bug in our bathtub (#reallife here). Instead of the normal fear-stricken, frozen look in her eyes, or worse, ear-damaging shrieking, she calmly came and told me about it and said "Mommy, I was brave."
I took this idea further and thought "What if I told every one of my students what I know?" What if before they left speech, they heard "Do you want to know what I know?" I know that you are brave. I know that you are kind. I know that you are a leader. I know that you are smart. I know that you are loved." This would bring change. And it starts with me and telling them what I know.
